Stage 1c Acquire materials for stage 2

After scouring Facebook Marketplace and reaching out to anyone who might have spare materials, we got creative in our hunt for supplies—trying everything from begging and borrowing to, well, not exactly stealing (we promise!). It was a bit of a treasure hunt, but after plenty of searching and negotiating, we finally managed to find the materials we needed. There was a sense of relief when the right pieces came together, and we could finally move forward with the build.

That said, we’re not quite done yet. We still need to acquire a few crucial items to complete the project: sharp sand to improve drainage and ensure the foundation is solid, as well as framing timber to construct the frame of the central meeting space. Once we have those materials, we can get down to the next big task—marking out the area for the meeting space and carefully planning its placement within the garden. This step is essential to ensure everything fits together as we envision it and will be both functional and aesthetically pleasing for the entire community to enjoy.

The car was not happy about being used as a 'hard core donkey' but it did the job. While we’ve made great progress, there’s still more work ahead—but the excitement of seeing the vision come to life keeps us motivated as we continue sourcing the final pieces!
